Insulin Pump Starts – Available Australia-Wide

At the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre, our experienced clinicians specialise in insulin pump starts. Whether in-person or via telehealth, we provide seamless support for people with type 1 diabetes looking to transition to pump therapy.

Comprehensive Pump Start Support

Our clinicians provide:

  • Expert pump education – Our clinicians are trained in all insulin pumps available in Australia.

  • Personalised pump selection – our clinicians help patients choose the pump that best suits their lifestyle and diabetes management approach.

  • End-to-end support – From pre-education and device setup, to pump start education and follow-up, our clinicians handle the entire process.

Available Australia-Wide

Our insulin pump start service is available:

  • Face-to-face in our Perth-based clinic.

  • Via telehealth for patients anywhere in Australia - because location should not limit a patient's access to healthcare.

What Your Patient Needs to Get Started...

From their Endocrinologist:

To access private health insurance coverage for an insulin pump, your patient will need a letter of clinical need. Our team can assist to ensure it contains the necessary details for approval by private health insurers.

From their GP:

Your patients will need a referral to an endocrinologist, who will provide the required clinical letter so that the patient can claim from their health insurer.

Next Steps

Your patients can self-refer, or you can fill in the HCP Referral Form on their behalf.
