BENJAMIN JARDINE RESIGNS AS CEO OF TYPE 1 DIABETES FAMILY CENTRE AFTER SECURING LANDMARK FUNDING; NATIONAL SEARCH UNDERWAY.
Stirling, 24 April 2025
The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre today announced that Benjamin Jardine will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer, effective 11 July 2025, after three transformative years leading the organisation. Mr Jardine is relocating to Tasmania to take up the position of CEO at The District Nurses.
Under Mr Jardine's leadership, the Family Centre achieved significant milestones, most notably securing its first-ever government funding package in its 10-year history. During his tenure, the Centre substantially grew its reach, impact, and clinical supports for individuals and families affected by type 1 diabetes, notably extending its reach beyond its metropolitan Western Australia origins to rural Western Australia and across the Eastern States.
“We sincerely thank Benjamin for his exceptional leadership and dedication,” said Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre Chairman Peter Bennett. “Securing WA State Government funding for our vital education, peer support, and psychology services was a landmark achievement, testament to his strategic vision. He leaves the Centre with a powerful legacy of stability, credibility, and growth, positioning us strongly for the future.”

Outgoing CEO Benjamin Jardine said, "I am incredibly proud of what the dedicated team at the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre has achieved during a period of significant expansion. We have advanced the Centre's unique model of care, empowering people living with type 1 diabetes with the skills and confidence for effective self-management. It's been a privilege to lead an organisation pioneering community-based alternatives in chronic disease care, and I wish the Centre continued success.”
The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre Board has commenced a comprehensive national search, considering both internal and external candidates, to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer. The Board is committed to finding a leader who will build on the Centre's strong foundation and guide its next exciting chapter of supporting the type 1 diabetes community.
