Cancellation Policy
The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre is a not-for-profit organisation that is focussed on ensuring availability of specialist community-based supports for people living with type 1 diabetes.
We are committed to ensuring that clients do not miss out on the opportunity to access our supports. To that end, we aim to reduce the level of late cancellations, late rescheduled and missed appointments.
The Family Centre also engages several private practitioners to provide specialist services. These practitioners are directly impacted by loss of income due to cancellations.

All clients of the Family Centre are informed of our cancellation policy at the time of booking and acknowledge the need to pay a fee for late cancellations. If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment or failure to show on the day will incur a 100% fee.
In most cases it is impracticable to fill a short-notice cancellation and even where this is possible, our clinicians lose both times set aside to prepare for the cancelled appointment and lose precious preparation time to ensure each client receives the high quality of service they deserve.
Telehealth appointments are available where necessary and if you are unwell on the day, there is always the option to switch to our telehealth services.
While we recognise this is not always ideal, this is the best option if you wish to avoid the cancellation fee payment.

If an appointment is not confirmed 24 hours prior to the consult, we have the right to cancel the appointment

We trust that you will agree that this is a fair and reasonable policy, and we thank you for your understanding.
