Hi, I’m Amy.

I've been a specialist T1D clinician for over ten years, and I truly believe that type 1 diabetes should fit seamlessly into your daily life, rather than it feeling like your life has to revolve around diabetes!

So, a little bit about me. When I’m not working, you will likely find me in my kitchen, my happy place! I love creating new recipes and thrive off serving my family and friends delicious meals. When I'm not in the kitchen, I'm probably planning my family’s next adventure. My husband, daughter, and I love to travel, eating our way around the world. We even called Sweden home for five amazing years! I’m all about making the most of life, and I’m passionate about helping others with type 1 diabetes do just that!

As both a dietitian and diabetes educator, I thrive off helping my patients understand the powerful connection between food and insulin. One of my favorite parts of working with people with type 1 is helping them to use both “insulin AND carbohydrate titration,” to give them greater flexibility in daily life.

I’m also a big advocate for reducing carbohydrates to help flatten out blood glucose levels - but this doesn't mean sacrificing the enjoyment of food! It’s incredibly rewarding to hear my clients talk about how "everything is easier" when carbs are a smaller part of the equation. I also had the honour of co-authoring on the 2024 international guidelines on Therapeutic Carbohydrate Reduction for Dietitians and Nutritionists, and I’m excited to keep educating healthcare professionals on how to safely implement this tool in their practices.

As a self-proclaimed tech enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for ways to optimise insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor technology. If there's a way to improve your setup, I'm on it!

I love tackling the most complex diabetes issues. So, whether you are an elite athlete or juggling multiple health conditions, I've got tricks up my sleeve to help diabetes behave. My goal is to empower you with creative solutions, celebrate your progress, and help you feel more confident and in control of your diabetes.

I do accept referrals from endocrinologists and GPs, but you can book yourself in to see me without one.
